         If you don’t have a water bath canner or a pressure canner, you can often find a good used water bath canner for sale. Reuse them, replacing the canner glass and lid. Keeping your jars clean, using jars that have no lids, and being sure to sterilize the canner or pressure canner is critical to the safety of your food.

5. Be patient & patient

It’s true, canning can be fiddly. But you’ll be happy, and giddy, and calmer, once you’ve made your lady love you again. After all, everyday is food canning day.

They are safe to use, and reliable. However, the verdict is still out on whether or not you can have your own water bath canner.

Yes, you do. You need the water bath canner. The other parts are handles, of course, and the food canner. But you’ll save money by having all three. It’s versatile.

9. How much space do you have to put this thing in?

Almost anImpossible question to answer. Consider everything you’ll need to have this outdoors. The ground to build the oven. The place to store and store your jars. the source of the heat and electricity. In fact, there are several cookers, canners, water bath canners, and food processors that you can use but that weren’t mentioned here.

10. What else should I have on hand?

A water filter for your water, if you have that, and a large knife to cut the seal and remove the metal ring, if you still have that. Of course, there’s your basic water filter, which you should still have around, and a large bowl for the water. You should also have a large pot to mix the ingredients. Depending on how long you’ve had the freezer, you may need to buy a special jar for mixing the flour.
